The 2-1 (2-1) win away sealed the victory for Italy in the series against Belgium in the Euro quarterfinals. Italy won 1-0 games.

It was 0-0 until Italy took the lead just after the half-hour mark through Nicolo Barella, who scored, with an assist by Marco Verratti, making it 0-1.

The team increased the lead to 0-2 just before the half-time whistle as Lorenzo Insigne scored.

Straight after the break, Romelu Lukaku scored and reduced the score for Belgium. However, Belgium were unable to make more of an impression. This brought the final score to 1-2.
