With the Premier League fully underway again after what seemed to be the most prolonged pre-season in history due to the global pandemic caused by Covid-19, we are starting to get a feel for how the Premier League is going to go this season. Leicester City ended last season in disappointing fashion with them missing out on the coveted Champions League spot on the final day. With this in mind, we take a look how Brendan Rogers and his side will be out to prove the doubters wrong once more like they did back in 2016.

Leicester has started the season very well this year with them currently 2nd in the league only to current champions Liverpool after last night’s electric win against Leeds away at Elland Road. Rodgers will be thrilled with the way his team has started to bounce back this season, especially with the number of first XI players that they have out injured. Players like Ricardo Pereria, Caglar Soyuncu and James Maddison who are all key players for the foxes have been missing since the start of the season and if you include Jonny Evans and Wilfred Ndidi into this list who have been injured during this year, the Foxes have done very well to get where they are today with a limited squad.

This has been helped by the new signings though that the Leicester board have made during the summer transfer window including Wesley Fofana and Cengiz Under who have both come in and improved the team dramatically. Fofana has clearly been the signing of the summer for them though, with him only being 19-years old, and signed for a hefty £40 million, he has stepped up to the plate with the injuries at centre-back for the Foxes and looked mature beyond his years and certainly one for the future re-sale if he continues his development.

Leicester are in a strong position this season to finish in the top four for the first time since their title win and have looked seriously impressive away from home with wins over Manchester City, Arsenal and Leeds – we think Leicester are the team to watch in the Premier League this year.
